As the first municipality in Greenland, Qeqqata Kommunia has chosen to focus on IT development through iPads. Besides there has been a focus on language with English from 1st grade.
We are working on creating a primary school that creates students who are ready for education. We are therefore focusing on strengthening the cooperation between school and home, among other things by employing 3 school consultants focusing on cooperation between school and home, as well as transitions between steps - from day to day at school, but also in the education system.
Besides from February, there has been established close cooperation with the municipality's social advisors. Family classes have been created in city schools. Visible management and leadership development is one of the focus areas. Since all students and teachers have iPads in Qeqqata Kommunia, it would be advantageous if the applicant is familiar with iPads as a tool.
City schools use school intra daily for weekly plans, contact with parents and internal contact at school. TEA (Tabulex Student Administration) is used daily for student registration and for Angusakka at least twice a year. The use of IT is therefore part of the daily work.

Sarfannguit atuarfiat in the village Sarfannguit has 17 students. The school has students from 1st to 8th grades, divided into 3 teams and 2 special class groups. The teachers consists of 1 school leader, 1 teacher and 2 temporary teachers. We are looking for 1 teacher to primarily engage in English and physics and science class.
The school focuses on raising professionalism and independence for the young people so that after the 8th grade they are prepared to continue schooling at Atuarfik Kilaaseeraq in Maniitsoq to complete primary school.

Sarfannguit has 124 inhabitants and is the only inhabited area of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Aasivissuit - Nipisat between Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq, covering an area of over 4,000 square kilometers and contains numerous ancient monuments and ruins that testify to the earliest human immigration to Greenland 4,500 years ago and up until today. The school has approx. 350 students divided into 21 classes from 1st to 10th grade and 5 special classes. There are 50 teachers.
We are looking for 2 teachers to teach primarily in English at all grades, and possibly teaching in different creative subjects.
Atuarfik Kilaaseeraq has teaching differentiation as an area and teachers get tools through courses.
The teachers will go through a workshop about the 7 Good Habits method and will use it in their teaching.
Maniitsoq, which is Greenland's 6th largest city, has approximately 2600 inhabitants. The city was founded in 1782 and is called the Venice of Greenland because of the many small islands on which parts of the city are built on. Maniitsoq means "the uneven" that refers to the heavily hilly terrain.
In Maniitsoq there are good opportunities for:
- Day care center and leisure room for children at a low price.
- Leisure activities with sports hall and fitness center, as well as plans for a combined swimming pool and cultural center on the way
- Leisure sports including skiing and good skiing trails

Wage and employment relationships, including the right to travel and residence, are in accordance with the current agreements and agreements between Naalakkersuisut and IMAK the teacher organization.
Recruitment is primarily based on agreement terms. For applicants who are already employed as a Greenlandic official, the appointment as a teacher can take place as an official. The appointment as an official will be in accordance with the Landstingslov No. 21 of 18 December 2003 on the Greenland Self-Government and Local Government officials in Greenland.
The posts are covered by the Act on Obligation to Obtain Child Certificate. According to the law, the employment can not begin until the municipality has obtained a child certificate. We will therefore draw attention to the fact that the date of accession can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the children's certificate from the National Police.
